How to teach Comparative adjectives

Main Activity:
1.    Show several  flashcard and have the students to mention the adjectives matched the cards.
2.    Ask three students to stand up. Introduce the comparative of one syllable adjectives:
3.    T: Arbistha is tall, but Adya  is taller than Arbistha. Arbistha is shorter than Adya. 
Make sure students understand that for these adjectives the comparative is formed by adding -er.
4.    Discuss feelings to introduce the comparative:
5.    Teacher: I am happy when I visit a friend, but I'm happier when it’s her birthday. 
Make sure students understand that the comparative is formed by replacing the “y” with an “i” and adding –er.
6.    Show students pictures of popular vacation destinations and famous cities. Introduce the comparative:
7.    Introduce the comparative for  two or more sylables adjectives.  Berlin is a beautiful city, but Paris is more beautiful than Berlin
Make sure students understand that the comparative is formed by using “more” plus the adjective.
8.    Have the students to mention other examples of comparatives.
